Your chats and communities, encrypted on your device
One-to-one chats, groups with channels and roles, profiles, a public directory, bots and live location. Everything is encrypted before it leaves your device – the server only relays ciphertext.

Messaging
Text, photos, files, voice, reactions, replies and disappearing messages – encrypted on your device before they leave it. Only you and the people you write to can read them.
Groups and communities
Private groups and whole communities: channels, categories, custom roles, invite links with approval, slow mode and moderation – with no member limit on any plan.
Profiles
A TACENZA profile with a name, picture, banner and bio – encrypted, with per-field visibility, so you decide exactly who sees what. No phone number or email needed.
Bots
Create bots in Bot Studio and run them with the Bot API and the @tacenza/bot SDK for Node.js. Bots get their own keys, and the server stays as blind to them as to people.

Safety numbers
Check that messages are encrypted to the right person. If someone’s keys change, the chat locks until you’ve checked again.
Message requests
People you haven’t written to arrive in their own folder, so strangers can’t land in your chat list.
Search on your device
Search chats, people, messages and settings with Ctrl or Cmd + K. The search runs on your device, never on our server.
Live location
Share where you are with the people you pick, for 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours or until you stop.
Web, installable and Windows
Use it in the browser, install it as an app, or use the Windows app with screenshot blocking for protected chats.

Light and dark themes, three text sizes, high contrast, reduced motion, English and Danish.
Honest about limits
Privacy has trade-offs. Here are ours, so you can decide with the full picture.
All known limits- Nobody can reset your password – not even us. Your recovery key is the only way back in if you forget it. That’s the price of nobody else being able to read along.
- A web page can’t block screenshots. The desktop app can, so by default protected chats can only be read there.
- The server knows who is in which group, because it has to enforce roles and permissions. It can’t read names, messages or profiles.
- Forward secrecy is planned for after 1.0. Until then, groups get a new key after 50 messages and on every membership change.
