Terms of Service
The terms for using TACENZA Chat – your account, usernames, acceptable use, your content and paid plans.

These are the terms for using TACENZA Chat.

Who we are
TACENZA is a CARTIQO product. These terms apply when you create an account or use the app at chat.tacenza.app.
To be completed: the registered company name, address and company registration number of CARTIQO, and which law and courts apply to these terms.
To be completed: TACENZA Mail isn’t covered by these terms yet. Mail needs its own terms (or a section here) before sign-up opens.
Age
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for using online services where you live if that is higher.
Your account
An account is a username and a password. Your password encrypts your keys, so nobody – including us – can reset it. When you sign up you get a recovery key: with it, you can set a new password yourself. Keep both safe; without them your account can’t be opened. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Usernames
A username is yours while your account exists. An account nobody logs in to for 6 months is deleted, and its username with it. Once TACENZA Mail exists, usernames are never given out again. Renaming is free until TACENZA Mail launches. Reserved names, names that look like other names, and names of 4 characters or fewer (released in waves) can’t be claimed.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use TACENZA to break the law, to harm children, or to harass, threaten or defraud people.
- Don’t try to overload, probe or get around the service’s limits, or to access accounts that aren’t yours.
- Bots must say what they do in their description and must not spam.
Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we can’t read them. We may suspend accounts or bots that abuse the service based on what we can see – for example rate-limit violations or reports forwarded to us by users.

Content
You keep all rights to what you send. We store it only in encrypted form so it can be delivered, and delete it when you or the conversation delete it, or when a disappearing-message timer runs out.
Paid plans
Draft – this section must be reviewed by legal counsel before any paid plan is sold (consumer law, the EU right of withdrawal for digital services, VAT and refunds).
TACENZA Free costs nothing and has no time limit. TACENZA Plus and TACENZA Pro are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, at the prices shown on the pricing page (including VAT where it applies). A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Settings or in the billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for; after that your account moves to Free.
Legal review: right of withdrawal and refunds for cancellation within 14 days.
Changing plan. Upgrades take effect at once; you pay the difference for the rest of the period. Downgrades take effect at once; the unused part of the period is credited against later invoices.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, your plan stays active for up to 7 days while the payment is retried. If it still can’t be collected, your account moves to Free.
Limits and your data. Each plan has limits on storage, devices, bots and attachment size, shown on the pricing page. If your account is over a limit after a downgrade or cancellation, nothing is deleted: your files, devices and bots stay, and new uploads, devices or bots wait until you are below the limit. Encryption, protected chats, disappearing messages and groups are never limited by plan.
Refunds and chargebacks.
Legal review: refund policy, statutory rights, handling of chargebacks.
Price changes. We will tell you in the app at least 30 days before a price change applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.

We work hard to keep TACENZA secure and available, but it is provided as is. See the security page for known limits.
Changes
If these terms change, we’ll say so in the app before the change takes effect.
