Zero-access encryption
Turn it on and your mail is encrypted in your browser with OpenPGP, so our server can’t read what it stores.
From checks
People can only send as addresses they’re allowed to use, and new accounts have sending limits to keep spam out.
Reporting
Anyone can report abuse; repeated reports from different people suspend an account automatically.

Use the web app, or connect any mail app over IMAP and SMTP.

Honest about limits
TACENZA Mail is private email, not magic. This is where it stops.
- With encryption on, we can’t read your stored mail. That still isn’t end-to-end. Mail from other providers arrives unencrypted, because that’s how email works, and is encrypted with your key the moment it’s stored. The provider on the other side can read what you send them.
- Who a message is from and to, its subject and its date stay readable to us. If a conversation must stay between two people, use TACENZA Chat.
- Your password passes our server when you sign in, because it also unlocks your encryption key. We don’t keep it, but for now that’s a promise, not something you can check.
- Shared addresses are encrypted a few seconds after mail arrives, not before it’s stored.
- Lose your password and your recovery key, and your encrypted mail is gone. Nobody can open it, us included.
